Orlando Magic at Washington Wizards (front end)

Team Totals: Magic 112.3, Wizards 104.3

Injury Report: Cole Anthony (Q, toe), Trevelin Queen (Q, ankle), Marcus Smart (O, finger)

Magic projected starters: Cory Joseph, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, Wendell Carter Jr.

Wizards projected starters: Jordan Poole, Bub Carrington, Khris Middleton, Kyshawn George, Alex Sarr

Mosley quotes: Said they were getting great looks against the zone and just couldn’t make them, said Isaac is not on a minutes limit and his minutes were down because of the flow of the game (Goga was great).

Keefe quotes: Said they had good ball movement and just missed some good looks, said Sarr can work on his perimeter defense with the two-big lineup, said he wants to see the G League guys in those environments (suuuuuuuure).

Stats and Notes:

*The Wizards really laid on the tanking thick against the Jazz, and using JT Thor and Jaylen Martin over Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington is just wrong. What happened to just regular tanking? A team gotta have a code. Anyway, it’s tough to get a read on how this goes down, and we saw the Wizards punt off the end of the game in a blowout against the Blazers. It wasn’t just the Utah game, so there’s a real risk on guys like Sarr and Carrington get cut down. This is awful. All these bad players filling minutes for the Wizards should lead to a really bad defensive performance. The Magic will need it with their offense coming in cold yet again. They’ve been able to take care of the ball better, but they’re still just playing so slow. For the Wizards’ offense, they were turning it around coming into the week, but they really fell apart in the last two games because of all this tanking.

Great matchups: Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner

Good matchups: Jordan Poole (won’t play enough), Bub Carrington, Wendell Carter Jr.

Bad matchups: Alex Sarr
