ETR has blessed me with the opportunity to freestyle a piece on here every couple of weeks. I get to write about what I love as long as it’s beneficial to fantasy and, well, that’s how my brain works anyway, so we’re good. What I wanted to do here is take a look at the players in new settings and compare what they did last season to the small samples we’re getting in the preseason and how I see that carrying over.

Dyson Daniels

Last season with New Orleans: 22.3 minutes per game, 18.9 fantasy points, 12.3 USG%

Preseason with Atlanta: 22.8 minutes per game, 24.0 fantasy points, 20.2 USG%

The opportunity is certainly there. The uptick in usage is nice, but Bogdan Bogdanovic was only able to get in one preseason game, so I don’t wanna put too much stock into it yet. Speaking of stocks, the steals are always gonna be the most attractive part of his game. He averaged 2.5 per 100 possessions in the preseason.

Josh Giddey

Last season with Oklahoma City: 25.1 MPG, 28.8 FP, 22.3 USG%

Preseason with Chicago: 23.8 MPG, 29.5 FP, 21.1 USG%

One of the biggest winners of the offseason, the Bulls are removing Josh Giddey’s chains (see what I did there?) to see what they have in him before letting him head to free agency. He averaged close to a triple-double per 100 possessions in their four preseason games (17.9 points, 11.3 assists, 9.4 rebounds).
