Preseason DFS is a different beast. Unlike the regular season, our main job is to identify players who will get the most playing time. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Our team spends an unhealthy amount of time researching to come up with the Depth Chart Notes and Top Plays (below). For Showdown slates, please be sure to consult Cody Main’s article.
Quarterback

Skylar Thompson, Miami – Mike McDaniel said Thompson and Mike White are “neck and neck” for the backup job. With Tua Tagovailoa sitting, this is a great chance for both Thompson and White to play extensively and try to earn the QB2 role. It seems reasonable to expect about a half for each QB.
Josh Johnson, Baltimore – Johnson is a longtime NFL veteran who had solid wheels at one point, but at 38 years old (!), his days as a prolific runner may be behind him. With Lamar Jackson sitting, Johnson will get the start for Baltimore, though it’s unclear how long he’ll go before the Ravens turn to their rookies.
