There is a lot that can change over the course of the preseason. As we’re approaching the start of the 2025-26 campaign, I always like to go over my first run on sleepers for this edition. I wrote Sleepers and Undervalued along with Deep Sleepers almost a month ago, so I wanted to revisit all of the guys I wrote about. I’ll break down the guys who went up, down, and stayed the same. I’ll also hit the new crop of sleepers who I wasn’t on enough back in September.
Let’s go over the sleepers who I missed last month, then we’ll evaluate the changes in value for all the names I listed before training camp.
New sleepers worthy of selection in standard leagues (arranged in order of where I would take them)
VJ Edgecombe – Love what I’ve seen out of Edgecombe, and Paul George being behind in his rehab should give Edgecombe heavy run early for a rookie on a good team (for now).
Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason – I was still pretty high on these two, but now they’re really strong picks after the Fred VanVleet news. I like them more than Reed Sheppard.
De’Andre Hunter – Hunter looks incredible in the preseason, and I’m almost expecting him to hold the starting SF job all season.
Chris Boucher – He is playing the 4 and the 5, and coach Joe Mazzulla attended his baptism. #Adjust.
Rui Hachimura – LeBron James missing the start of the season should give Rui a lot of leash to start the season.
Moses Moody – It’s tough to trust Steve Kerr because of the deep rotations, but Moody could have a breakout season.
AJ Green – Doc Rivers just loves this guy, and he looks like a lock to start.
