There’s no better way to get over the line for your first time than a six-stroke win! We’ve all seen it with Cameron Young, ever since he was crushing the Korn Ferry Tour back in 2021. Up until this year, his game was built around being elite off the tee and on approach, which vaulted him into contention in multiple majors. But the change in his putting in 2025 is the big reason for his elevation, and it was all put together at the Wyndham Championship. The Ryder Cup captain selections are all the rage right now too, and I’d think he has to keep building out the résumé throughout the playoffs. But not many are set up better profile-wise for Bethpage than New York’s own, Cam Young!

Half of the Value Report made the weekend at the Wyndham Championship, but of those players, we had two slate-breakers in Jackson Koivun and Joel Dahmen. Starting first with the amateur, Koivun truly looks like he has the makings of a superstar, and he’s doing it differently than most of the other young stars. So much of the amateur game is built around speed not skill, while Koivun is showing off in accuracy and short game. That’s now three top 12s in a row on the PGA Tour for him, and it earns him a spot at the Procore, where he will tee it up against most of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The second stud was Dahmen, who held the outright lead after the first round before settling for a T15. Accuracy and irons are what he does best, and so far it looks like the breakup with his caddie Geno has given him the motivation to find his old game. Dahmen needs to keep up this form in the fall as well to avoid heading back to the Korn Ferry Tour. The other two who made the cut were Paul Peterson and Eric Cole, who never amounted to much. I tracked Cole quite a bit though, and he had a really strong approach week, which led to the Friday rally. Hopefully, those are signs of a bounce-back fall to come. On the missed-cut side, Ben Kohles bogeyed his final hole in Round 2 to miss on the number and David Ford had us on a roller coaster for two days. His first round showed how elite of a driver Ford can be, but his short game needs a lot of work. Zac Blair and Philip Knowles didn’t have much of a shot at all, so the deep-diving didn’t pay off.
