Not only were the 49ers flexed out of this game’s previous Sunday night slot to 1pm ET, they remain quarterbacked by Nick Mullens, to whom Kyle Shanahan gave an entirely unconvincing Wednesday confidence vote. “Nick’s the guy we’ll start out with,” Shanahan announced, “and we’ll see how it goes.” Mullens is a high-risk two-quarterback-league play even in Sunday’s domed JerryWorld bout with one of the NFL’s worst defenses. Now short Deebo Samuel (hamstring), Mullens has finished QB18 or lower in 6-of-7 starts. … The 49ers narrowed their backfield to a Week 14 two-man ordeal against Washington; Raheem Mostert led the group in touches (16) and snaps (49%) but was closely trailed by Jeffrey Wilson (12, 48%), while Mostert suffered an ankle injury concerning enough to require an MRI and cost him practice time. Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon are also available. Wilson still looks like Week 15’s best bet to operate as San Francisco’s lead back at Dallas, which has given up the league’s sixth-most fantasy running back points.
