Seattle @ Houston

Team Totals: Seahawks 24.5, Texans 17

Especially after Russell Wilson made incremental progress in Week 12’s loss to Washington coming off his right (throwing) middle-finger injury, then took a fairly large step forward in Week 13’s upset of San Francisco, Wilson checks in among Week 14’s biggest fantasy conundrums via his mouth-watering matchup indoors against a Texans defense conceding the league’s third-most points per game (26.9). Texans DC Lovie Smith’s unit has permitted the NFL’s sixth-most yards per pass attempt (7.7) and can’t rush the passer, ranking bottom five in QB Hit Rate (13%). In an environment as favorable as this, I’m willing to take a glass-half-full approach to Wilson’s box-score outlook. … In last week’s win, Seattle ran a three-way RBBC involving Adrian Peterson, Rashaad Penny, and Travis Homer wherein no single backfield member exceeded 11 touches. Alex Collins was a scratch. Penny is the only Seahawks back I’d consider a viable if desperate flex option here; Houston has surrendered the NFL’s fourth-most fantasy running back points, while Penny was the most impressive runner in Seattle’s Week 13 RB stable.
