San Francisco @ Cincinnati
Team Totals: Bengals 25.5, 49ers 23.5
Injuries to Elijah Mitchell (concussion/knee), Trey Sermon (ankle), and Trenton Cannon (concussion) position Jeff Wilson and JaMycal Hasty to split San Francisco’s Week 14 backfield at Cincinnati, which has yielded the NFL’s 12th-most fantasy running back points. On Monday, Kyle Shanahan stated Wilson’s longstanding knee injury “flared up” in Week 13’s loss to Seattle. Wilson did practice fully twice this week. Hasty hasn’t reached double-digit touches in an individual game since Week 8 of the 2020 season but is competent in the passing game with some juice as a runner. As the favorite for early-down and goal-line work, Wilson warrants upside RB2 valuation. Hasty is a flex option in season-long leagues and worthy of DFS-tournament consideration. … Deebo Samuel (groin) seems destined for a game-time decision at the Bengals. His availability or lack thereof obviously impacts outlooks for George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk. Last week, Trent Sherfield and Jauan Jennings operated as San Francisco’s Nos. 2 and 3 receivers with Samuel on the shelf, although neither played much of a role in Jimmy Garoppolo’s ball distribution. Kittle enters Week 14 with five TDs over his last five games. I’ll like Aiyuk’s chances of bouncing back from last Sunday’s 3/55/0 clunker if the 49ers give Samuel another week off.
