Passing Game Overview
Ostensibly via mandate from owner Jim Irsay, the Colts made Anthony Richardson April’s No. 4 overall pick after he registered the top composite athleticism score by a quarterback in NFL Combine history. Extremely raw, Richardson made only 13 starts at Florida and completed a lowly 54.7% of his career passes. Yet Irsay and rookie coach Shane Steichen have publicly committed to playing Richardson early, leaning on Steichen’s history with fellow once-developmental dual threat Jalen Hurts. His skill set comparable to Cam Newton’s, Richardson offers immense fantasy upside right away. But growing pains look inevitable, especially at the helm of a work-in-progress offense with big supporting-cast concerns.
