From Mississippi to Japan to Utah, the PGA Tour fall swing gets back underway this week with the Black Desert Championship at the Black Desert Golf Course for the second consecutive season. Unsurprisingly, the field this week will be one of the weakest we’ve seen all season with none of the top 15 in the world, and only five of the top 50.
The Course:
Black Desert Golf Course is set to play as a par 71, 7,421-yard layout with 11 par 4s, four par 3s, and three par 5s. It features bentgrass on the fairways and greens, and bluegrass in the rough. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, Black Desert first opened for play as a resort course in 2023, and quickly became one of the best public golf courses in the state of Utah. Black Desert is defined by the black lava which surrounds the entire golf course, making for picturesque views and plenty of lost golf balls.
