Winners of three straight and four of their last five while leaning hard into their rushing attack, the 49ers have every reason to stay the course with Deebo Samuel (groin) reportedly shelved for 1-2 weeks and Elijah Mitchell coming off season highs in touches (32), total yards (168), and snaps (70%) in Week 12’s crucial win over Minnesota. Mitchell is looking like a potential stretch-run league winner beginning with Week 13’s matchup against a Seahawks defense hemorrhaging the league’s second-most fantasy points to running backs. … Jimmy Garoppolo’s extreme passing efficiency is keeping him safely and securely ahead of raw rookie Trey Lance — Jimmy G has cleared 8.0 yards per pass attempt in five straight starts — but it hasn’t translated to much fantasy usefulness. And I’m skeptical that will change in the absence of Samuel. Garoppolo is a justifiable QB1 streamer but preferably a high-end two-QB-league starter here.
