Kansas City @ Arizona
Team Totals: Chiefs 30, Cardinals 24
Headed up by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City’s offense is a safe bet to remain elite despite Tyreek Hill’s (Dolphins) departure keyed by an O-Line that got progressively better over the course of 2021, returns all five starters, and earned Brandon Thorn’s No. 2 league-wide ranking behind only Philadelphia. Arizona’s defensive front lost Chandler Jones (Raiders) in free agency and is dealing with injuries to 33-year-old DE J.J. Watt (calf), starting CB Trayvon Mullen (toe), and EDGE Markus Golden (toe). In Week 1’s highest-totaled game, Mahomes is a shoo-in top-five QB1 play. … The Chiefs’ backfield is a mess from a projection standpoint with Clyde Edwards-Helaire apparently ticketed for early-down work, Jerick McKinnon handling passing downs, rookie Isiah Pacheco likely to be active for his return-game role, and Ronald Jones in limbo. Only CEH is playable as a questionable-ceiling RB2.
