One of my favorite pre-season MVP longshot bets at 80 to 1, Trevor Lawrence enters Week 3 ranked No. 3 among quarterbacks in Expected Points Added per play, a metric Pro Football Focus has shown to be predictive for future MVP winners. Chargers top CB J.C. Jackson (ankle) looks likely to go back on the shelf, helpful for Lawrence after the Bolts held Derek Carr (QB18) and Pat Mahomes (QB14) to below-expectation Weeks 1-2 fantasy results. I’m not ready to deem Lawrence a top-12 fantasy quarterback due largely to his still work-in-progress supporting cast but am fascinated to see how he performs here.
