Coming off a mini-bye following Week 13’s Thursday night win over New England, the rested Bills host a Jets team that’s permitted consecutive fantasy results of QB25 (Kirk Cousins), QB29 (Trevor Siemian), and QB21 (Mac Jones) after stymieing Josh Allen for 18-of-34 passing (53%) for 205 yards (6.0 YPA), a 0:2 TD-to-INT ratio, and five sacks taken on 39 dropbacks in Week 9. (Allen did register positive fantasy results via 9/86/2 rushing.) I think it’s fair to curb expectations for Allen facing one of the NFL’s best defenses, but likewise noteworthy that Allen has scored 18-plus fantasy points in 11-of-12 games. I’m questioning Allen’s ceiling but not his floor. … The Bills promoted rookie James Cook to their lead-back role in Week 13’s win; Cook banked career highs in carries (14), targets (6), total yards (105), and snaps (43%) against New England, while Devin Singletary (13/2/51/44%) took a backseat, and Nyheim Hines (2/2/18/31%) was ineffectually involved. As Gang Green has limited enemy running backs to the NFL’s 11th-fewest fantasy points, I’m approaching both Cook and Singletary as high-risk flex options here.
