N.Y. Jets @ Houston

Team Totals: Texans 23.5, Jets 21

With Mike White and Joe Flacco both sent to the Covid list, the Jets will turn back to beleaguered rookie Zach Wilson for the first time since 2021’s No. 2 overall pick sprained his PCL in Week 7. Overwhelmed in the pocket and unable to function with any consistency inside OC Mike LaFleur’s offensive structure, Wilson showed minimal signs of box-score usefulness early in the season; he was fantasy’s QB30 over his first five NFL starts. Houston’s defense is still soft enough for Wilson to warrant playability in two-QB/Superflex leagues. … Michael Carter’s high ankle sprain figures to chop Gang Green’s backfield down from a three- to two-man ordeal with Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson stepping to the forefront. To-date usage data suggests Coleman will log most early-down carries with Johnson handling more passing-down snaps. This year’s Texans have coughed up the league’s seventh-most fantasy points to running backs, including a generous 4.81 yards per carry and 11 all-purpose touchdowns through 10 games.
