The Texans added to their WR room with the No. 34 overall pick, taking Iowa State WR Jayden Higgins. With Tank Dell on the mend, Houston was lacking at WR depth, and Higgins could be a Day 1 starter for Houston. Let’s break this down from a fantasy perspective.
JAYDEN HIGGINS
- Higgins is 6-foot-4 and spent most of his youth as a basketball player first. He was a two-star recruit coming out of high school and committed to Eastern Kentucky, and then he transferred up to Iowa State after notching 757 receiving yards and 10 TDs as a sophomore at EKU. Higgins outproduced former teammate and fellow Day 2 draft prospect Jaylin Noel in back-to-back seasons in Ames and 87-1,183-9 as a senior in 2024. Higgins ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at 6’4” and 214 pounds and posted strong jump numbers as well. He’s not the most agile player in the world and has room to grow as a route runner, but his combination of size and ball skills make him a dangerous downfield threat. Daniel Jeremiah said that Higgins’ college film reminded him of Nico Collins’ film at Michigan.
