Passing Game Outlook
Cincinnati boasts the league’s pass-happiest attack, as the Bengals notched a +8.2% Pass Rate Over Expectation in 2024. After all, if you had Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, wouldn’t you throw the ball as much as possible too? Burrow rode the pass-centric offense to a QB3 finish in fantasy football last season, throwing for 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns with only nine interceptions. Burrow is slightly unique versus other highly drafted QBs in that he doesn’t provide much with his legs — only 201 rushing yards last season — making him completely reliant on otherworldly passing numbers to keep pace with other elite quarterbacks. It’s worth mentioning the Bengals’ defense was in the bottom quartile of the league last year, creating multiple game scripts where Burrow had to keep throwing the entire game. If the defense takes a step forward in 2025, as expected, it would impact Burrow’s fantasy output. Still, he’s a clear top-four real-life QB with arguably the best WR duo in the league, entrenching him as a mid- to high-end QB1 for fantasy purposes.
