After a brief hiatus, the PGA Tour fall swing returns for the WWT Championship at El Cardonal at Diamante GC in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the third consecutive year. Without much daylight to work with this time of year, the WWT will be a 120-player field with six of the WGR’s top 50 in attendance.
The Course:
El Cardonal at Diamante is set to play as a 7,450-yard, par 72 layout with four par 5s, four par 3s, and 10 par 4s. Designed by Tiger Woods, El Cardonal opened for play in 2014, and features paspalum turf from tee to green. Paspalum is known for being “sticky” compared to the Bermuda grass that Tour players often face on coastal setups, so El Cardonal should play a bit slower than most weeks on Tour.
