ETR Buy or Sell is simple: we ask our analysts a “Buy or Sell” question on a topic with fantasy relevance, and based on staff consensus, deliver a Buy or Sell rating.

Dalton Schultz will be a TE1 going forward.

Adam Levitan: “Buy. Sliding into the role we thought Blake Jarwin would have, Schultz ran a route on 36 of Dak’s 49 drop backs in Week 2. He was slot or wide 26 times. Although the volume will decrease in tamer game flows, Schultz’s usage is in the TE1 range.”

Drew Dinkmeyer: “Schultz should be a fringe TE1-high end TE2. The role in the Cowboys’ offense will elevate him to streamer status but he’s not the athlete that Blake Jarwin is so it’s not quite plug and play.”

Pat Kerrane: “Sell. Schultz had an excellent game in Week 2 both in raw production and in his underlying stats. In particular, Schultz earning a target on 28% of his routes was very bullish. But there are still a lot of mouths to feed in Dallas, and I expect Michael Gallup to rebound somewhat from his slow start. Schultz should be a solid fantasy contributor, but not a surefire every week start.”

Staff Consensus: Technically, buy, but the difference between a low-end TE1 or high-end TE2 is not that important. He makes for an excellent backup TE, and palatable starting option most weeks.
