Yet David Montgomery has emerged as a bright spot in fantasy terms, playing 83% of Chicago’s offensive snaps and drawing 14 targets in two games since Tarik Cohen’s ACL tear. A severe run-funnel defense, Carolina has yielded a 109/552/8 (5.06 YPC) rushing line and 201.2 total yards per game to enemy backfields. No NFL team has given up more running back receptions than the Panthers (43). If Montgomery is ever going to deliver an eruption game, an environment like this is where it would happen.
