Denver @ Dallas
Team Totals: Cowboys 29.5, Broncos 20
Now missing LT Garret Bolles (high ankle sprain) and probably Noah Fant (Covid) after absorbing 11 combined sacks and committing five turnovers over Denver’s last three games, Teddy Bridgewater is an inviting target for Dallas’ fantasy D/ST. The Broncos have scored fewer than 20 points in four of their last five contests and could soon entertain inserting even-more takeaway-propense Drew Lock. … Denver’s inability to find a pre-trade deadline taker for Melvin Gordon suggests we should anticipate OC Pat Shurmur keeping in place the most even two-way RBBC in the league. In Week 8’s win over Washington, Gordon narrowly out-touched Javonte Williams 13 to 11 and played seven more snaps than his rookie backfield mate. Especially as the Broncos gradually fall further out of playoff contention, I do expect Williams to take over as lead back. But for Week 9, Gordon and Williams both qualify as low-end RB2/flex options at the Cowboys, who’ve surrendered the NFL’s sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs.
