Coming off his season-worst game in last Monday night’s loss to Detroit — he went 0 for 7 on throws 20+ yards downfield — Baker Mayfield encounters a bounce-back matchup inside the Superdome against a Saints defense that’s been a pass funnel for most of the year. Yet Mayfield won’t have Mike Evans (clavicle, I.R.) or Chris Godwin (fibula), while Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) is clearly less than 100%. In a week with six teams on bye, I’m still dialing up Mayfield as a top-12 QB1 option. New Orleans has yielded the NFL’s sixth-highest passer rating (104.7), while I think this is a friendly spot for the Saints’ offense on the other side, creating shootout potential. … Rachaad White was a Week 7 dud as the Bucs trailed Detroit for the entire game, but White still out-touched Sean Tucker 14 to 2 and out-snapped him 63 to 6. White is a legitimate every-down back in Bucky Irving’s (shoulder, foot) ongoing absence. Tampa Bay is favored by 4.5 points here. The Saints got throttled by Bears running backs for a combined 33/216/2 (6.5 YPC) rushing line last week.
