Even as Mahomes’ recent box-score results have been all over the map, this game’s projected friendly weather and shootout potential support backing Mahomes as an upside QB1. By a distance, Chiefs-Chargers has the highest total of the week. … Already surrendering the league’s fourth-most fantasy running back points, the Bolts are dealing with injuries to hulking DTs Linval Joseph (shoulder) and Justin Jones (ankle/knee). Staring at Kansas City’s box score after last week’s 48-9 blowout of Las Vegas might lead you to believe the Chiefs deployed a three-way RBBC, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the primary back for the short time the game was in doubt with Darrel Williams right behind him. Derrick Gore cleaned up in garbage time. At L.A., I’m valuing Edwards-Helaire as a fringe RB1/2 and Williams as a justifiable flex and single-game DFS-tournament play. I’m ignoring Gore.
