Kansas City @ Tennessee
Team Totals: Chiefs 31.5, Titans 26
This is an eruption spot for Kansas City facing a Titans team on a short week coming off its emotional Monday night upset of Buffalo that lost Julio Jones (hamstring), top CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring) to I.R. before the game, first-round CB Caleb Farley to a torn ACL, and LT Taylor Lewan to a terrifying concussion. Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL in touchdown passes (18), all quarterbacks in fantasy points by a 2.6-point margin over runner-up Josh Allen, and is on pace for a career-best 69% completion rate. I’m buying Mahomes aggressively at his lowered MVP odds. … Albeit influenced by Week 6’s lopsided win over The Football Team, Darrel Williams dominated the Chiefs’ backfield usage in terms of playing time (70%), touches (24), and TDs (2) over Jerick McKinnon (30%, 4, 0). Clyde Edwards-Helaire (MCL) will sit at least two more weeks on I.R., positioning Williams for continued bellcow work at the Titans and versus the Giants. Williams is a surefire RB1 in a near-every-down role in this projected track meet.
