Philadelphia @ Detroit
Team Totals: Eagles 26, Lions 22.5
If the Eagles are ever going to put together four quarters of quality offense — they’ve lived off garbage-time scoring to this point — this would be it. Visiting domed Ford Field to face a Lions defense permitting the league’s eighth-most points, Philly should be incentivized more than ever to lean on Jalen Hurts missing Miles Sanders (ankle). Talent-poor Detroit has been set aflame for NFL highs in yards per pass attempt (9.5) and QB Rating (114.5). Fantasy’s overall QB3 behind only Tom Brady and Kyler Murray, Hurts is an exciting play here. … Nevertheless, rumors of Hurts’ impending benching based on his erratic real-life play should encourage two-QB and Superflex leaguers to stash Gardner Minshew, especially after the Eagles traded away Joe Flacco. … I’m betting we see a near-even timeshare between Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott with Scott inheriting more of Sanders’ vacated role and Gainwell dominating snaps in passing situations. As only the Jets and Chargers have permitted more fantasy running back points than the Lions, I’m approaching Gainwell as a surefire RB2 and Scott as an upside RB2/flex play.
