Atlanta @ New Orleans
Team Totals: Saints 24, Falcons 18
At full strength with EDGE Marcus Davenport, LB Kwon Alexander, DT David Onyemata, and CB Bradley Roby all back from early-season injuries/suspensions, the Saints’ D/ST is an appealing fantasy bet here. In Week 8’s loss to Carolina, Calvin Ridley’s (personal) now-indefinite absence forced the Falcons to trot out scrubs Russell Gage, Tajae Sharpe, and Olamide Zaccheaus in three-receiver formations, while Matt Ryan got roughed up for nine hits and three sacks on only 30 dropbacks and threw for 154 yards, his fewest since Week 13 of the 2018 season, a 42-game span. In the Superdome, it will be surprising if the Saints don’t tee off on Ryan and cause multiple takeaways. I personally bet the under on Atlanta’s 17.5-point team total for this game. … Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson shared Atlanta’s Week 8 backfield almost exactly evenly in terms of snaps (34, 32), routes run (16, 15), targets (6, 5), carries (9, 9), and touches (14, 14), yet Patterson scored the unit’s lone touchdown on a 15-yard second-quarter catch and established himself as the Falcons’ top running back playmaker long ago.
