Adam Gase’s Week 7 delegation of play-calling duties to longtime crony Dowell Loggains did nothing to spark the Jets’ passing “attack;” Sam Darnold’s 5.22 yards per attempt against a previously struggling Bills pass defense were his fewest in 10 starts, and Darnold was either sacked or threw an interception on a whopping 8-of-29 dropbacks (28%). Whereas there is minimal rest-of-year hope for Gang Green’s offense, the Chiefs’ D/ST looks like an eruption play here. … Albeit without outstanding Week 7 results, Loggains did make more of a commitment to featuring fourth-round rookie La’Mical Perine, who set season highs in playing time (70%), carries (11), and touches (13) against the Bills. Frank Gore (28%, 11 touches) stayed involved, however, in a Jets backfield that should continue to be approached as a two-man RBBC. Even against Kansas City’s movable defensive front, Perine is a questionable-ceiling flex play.
