Green Bay @ Minnesota
Team Totals: Packers 24.5, Vikings 22.5
I delayed writing up Packers-Vikings because of Green Bay’s litany of injuries; LT David Bakhtiari (knee) is on the doubtful side of his questionable tag, RT Elgton Jenkins (knee) is legitimately questionable, WR Allen Lazard (ankle) was listed as doubtful on Friday, and TE Robert Tonyan (knee) was removed from the injury report altogether, meaning he will play. Due to supporting-cast deficiencies that began with Davante Adams (Raiders) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s (Chiefs) free-agent departures, I’m cold on Aaron Rodgers’ Week 1 box-score projection and am viewing him as a clear-cut fantasy QB2. Missing Bakhtiari and/or Jenkins could be devastating against imposing Vikings EDGE rushers Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith. … As Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon arguably represent Green Bay’s top two non-Rodgers skill-position players, they both look like every-week fantasy starters in season-long leagues. Regardless of Lazard’s availability, Jones is the Packers’ most dynamic pass catcher remaining and averaged 26.0 PPR points in the seven games missed by Adams from 2019-2021 versus 16.5 with Adams in the lineup. In last year’s two meetings versus Minnesota, Dillon combined for 180 total yards, two touchdowns, and eight receptions. Jones is a borderline RB1 and Dillon an upside RB2/flex starter.
