Carolina @ N.Y. Giants
Team Totals: Panthers 23, Giants 20
Losers of three straight following their 3-0 start, the Panthers visit the Giants promising to reemphasize their run game, pass protection, and defense. Coach Matt Rhule’s public pledge aligns with this game’s lowly 43-point total and highlights Chuba Hubbard as a surefire fantasy RB1. Averaging 20.3 touches in his three fill-in starts for Christian McCaffrey (hamstring, I.R.), Hubbard now draws a New York defense enemy running backs have plowed for the league’s seventh-most fantasy points. Royce Freeman does look like one of fantasy’s top running back stashes with McCaffrey out indefinitely and the Panthers’ affinity for a one-back offense. … Rhule’s promise to revise Carolina’s offense obviously emanates from Sam Darnold’s recent struggles; over the Panthers’ last three games, Darnold committed seven turnovers, took 12 sacks, and averaged an anemic 5.85 yards per pass attempt. The Giants don’t pose an overly daunting Week 7 matchup, but I’d avoid teeing up Darnold outside of two-QB leagues.
