New England @ L.A. Chargers
Team Totals: Chargers 27, Patriots 21.5
Damien Harris draws Week 8’s softest run-defense matchup against the Chargers, who enemy backs ethered for a 150/794/8 (5.29 YPC) rushing line and nine all-purpose TDs over L.A.’s initial six games. Rhamondre Stevenson was healthy scratched from Week 7 after multiple Week 6 pass-pro mistakes, Brandon Bolden remains the Pats’ designated passing-down back, and J.J. Taylor’s Week 7 two-TD flurry occurred in garbage time of New England’s 54-13 destruction of the Jets. Harris does need the Pats to foster neutral to positive game script to maximize his workload, but his matchup couldn’t possibly be friendlier, and Harris enters Week 8 hot with 221 total yards and three TDs over his last two games.
