Favored by a touchdown against the perennially bottom-feeding Jets, Lamar Jackson should impose his dual-threat will on Robert Saleh’s defense, which last year coughed up the NFL’s seventh-most fantasy QB points. Entering his contract season with a chip on his shoulder following failed extension talks, Jackson is expected to get back LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and should tear apart a Jets secondary starting journeyman Lamarcus Joyner at free safety, smurfish Seahawks and 49ers castoff D.J. Reed at outside corner opposite rookie Sauce Gardner, and 2021 fifth-round pick Michael Carter II at nickel. … Jackson’s rushing projection is arguably boosted by Baltimore’s convoluted RB situation with Gus Edwards (knee) on reserve/PUP and J.K. Dobbins (knee) still in recovery mode, possibly leaving retreads Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake as Baltimore’s top two backs. Davis is my bet to lead the position group in touches against a Jets defense that surrendered the most fantasy running back points in the league last year.
