New Orleans @ N.Y. Jets
Team Totals: Saints 24, Jets 18.5
Fighting off “Mallet finger” — an injury similar to that which cost Russell Wilson three games earlier this year — Taysom Hill admitted this week he’s adjusting to sporting a splint on his throwing hand that affects Hill’s grip and delivery. Working in Hill’s favor is the Saints’ “mini-bye” following last Thursday night’s loss to Dallas, Alvin Kamara’s (knee) projected return, plus Hill’s rushing upside after he ran for 101 yards in Week 13. The Saints may also get back LT Terron Armstead (knee), who’s appeared in just one game since Week 9. Hill’s shaky health lowers his floor, but his matchup and environment render Taysom an upside QB1 investment here. … Mark Ingram’s trip to the Covid list plus Kamara’s return to full practices positions Kamara to eat against the Jets, who’ve allowed the NFL’s most fantasy points to running backs. Sean Payton has shown almost no affinity for giving any other Saints backs the ball.
