New Orleans @ Carolina
Team Totals: Saints 25, Panthers 18
Derek Carr returns from his four-week oblique injury with a chance to tee off on a hapless Panthers defense that gave up top-six weekly fantasy scores to three of its last four quarterbacks faced. Carolina is allowing a league-high 33.9 points per game. Even after his prolonged absence, I’m willing to tee up Carr based on Week 9’s swinging-gate opponent. … Alvin Kamara stands to benefit from the return of Carr plus LG Lucas Patrick (chest) and RG Cesar Ruiz (knee), while no NFL defense has permitted more fantasy points to running backs than the Panthers. Kamara has handled 16 or more touches in seven of eight games this season. … A healthy Taysom Hill all but eliminates Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller from box-score relevance. In Week 8 against the Chargers, Hill logged seven touches on 29 offensive snaps compared to two touches on 23 snaps for Williams and three on 10 for Miller. Hill is also a very realistic Week 9 fantasy starter in leagues where he is tight end eligible.
