New Orleans @ Pittsburgh
Team Totals: Saints 20.5, Steelers 19.5
Although Dennis Allen stated early this week that he is committed to Andy Dalton, Dalton’s leash has to be shortening with Jameis Winston healthy and the Saints having dropped three of their last four. In last week’s loss to Baltimore, Dalton engineered zero touchdown drives until the Saints were down 27-6 with under five minutes left in the game. Steelers All-World EDGE T.J. Watt’s (pec) return further bodes poorly for Dalton’s outlook, especially with Saints C Erik McCoy (calf) and LG Andrus Peat (tricep) on the shelf. I’m firing up Pittsburgh’s D/ST and stashing Winston in two-QB/Superflex formats. … Dominated by the Ravens last Monday, the Saints’ offense ran only 49 plays, explaining Alvin Kamara’s smallest touch count (12) since Week 1. Kamara did play a season-high 88% of New Orleans’ offensive snaps; his role isn’t being reduced. I expect Kamara to return to the 17-20 touch range here since opposing RBs are averaging 28.0 touches per game against the Steelers. Kamara remains a confident RB1. … There continues to be little rhyme or reason to Taysom Hill’s usage with touch counts (including completions) of 2, 12, 6, 7, 10, 5, and 3 over the past seven games. He remains a boom-or-bust TE1/2 where eligible.
