Houston @ Miami

Team Totals: Dolphins 26.5, Texans 20

Tyrod Taylor’s return from Week 2’s hamstring injury injects playmaking potential into Houston’s offense to the extent that I bet the over on this game’s 46.5-point total. Brandin Cooks remains the Texans’ lone fantasy-bankable pass catcher; he led the team in targets (12), receptions (10), yards (182), and first-down conversions (6) on Taylor’s Weeks 1-2 throws. … Danny Amendola, Nico Collins, Chris Conley, and Chris Moore formed what amounted to a four-way WRBC behind Cooks in Week 8’s loss to the Rams. … Jordan Akins is a mildly attractive Week 9 tight end punt play after banking Week 8 season highs in receiving (5/53/0) and snaps (64%) against Los Angeles. The Dolphins have yielded the NFL’s second-most yards to tight ends (546). … In order, the Texans’ Week 8 backfield distribution consisted of Rex Burkhead, Scottie Phillips, David Johnson, and Phillip Lindsay. Burkhead and Phillips’ usage were enhanced by garbage time, although Houston risks falling into garbage time each and every week.
