Houston @ Jacksonville
Team Totals: Jaguars 23, Texans 21.5
Not only has Houston played pathetic offense so far — rookie OC Nick Caley’s unit ranks last in points per game (14.0) — but the Texans have run the NFL’s fourth-fewest offensive plays (108), stripping them of sheer opportunities to fill up box scores. They can’t sustain drives behind the league’s worst offensive line, and C.J. Stroud hasn’t showed an ability to elevate teammates since his 2023 rookie year. It’s an offense to stream D/STs against. The Jags’ EDGE duo of Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen could feast here. … Nick Chubb’s Week 2 stat line looks respectable on paper, but context is needed since the Bucs allowed him to score on Chubb’s 25-yard fourth-quarter TD. Jacksonville held Panthers and Bengals RBs to a combined Weeks 1-2 rushing line of 36/120/0 (3.3 YPC). I’m continuing to stash Texans rookie RB Woody Marks, who passed Dameon Pierce on the depth chart, saw snaps on Houston’s opening drive, and flashed juice on a 37-yard catch against Tampa Bay.
