Minnesota @ Miami
Team Totals: Vikings 25, Dolphins 21.5
Kirk Cousins visits Miami with to-date fantasy finishes of QB12 (vs. GB), QB24 (@ PHI), QB10 (vs. DET), QB21 (vs. NO), and QB6 (vs. CHI), while the Dolphins have permitted the NFL’s third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks with top CB Xavien Howard nursing injuries to both groin muscles and No. 2 CB Byron Jones (Achilles, PUP) not yet ready to return. Cousins is a viable low-end QB1 play; my concern about his upside stems from Miami’s ability to fight back on the scoreboard with seventh-round rookie Skylar Thompson at quarterback. … Dalvin Cook’s passing-game usage has underwhelmed, but he’s been hot on the ground with a combined rushing line of 55/266/3 (4.8 YPC) over the past three weeks. Alexander Mattison is still mixing in enough in passing and short-yardage situations to curb Cook’s ceiling and raise his touchdown dependency. But the Vikings are a better team in this scenario than the Thompson-QBed Dolphins and should live in neutral to positive game script, keeping Cook on schedule for 17-20 carries.
