Friday Afternoon Football
Minnesota @ New Orleans
Team Totals: Saints 29.25, Vikings 22.75
Although Kirk Cousins has played well enough lately to book top-16 fantasy finishes in six straight starts and a sterling 18:3 TD-to-INT ratio and 8.05 YPA over his last eight, Cousins risks spending Friday’s game under siege against a Saints defense that ranks sixth in sacks (40) and fifth in QB hits (98), and has conceded the NFL’s seventh-fewest fantasy QB points. Minnesota’s offensive line is overmatched versus New Orleans’ ultra-talented defensive front, while Cousins has absorbed 13 sacks and committed four turnovers over his last three games. Cousins is a volatile two-quarterback-league option. I’m firing up the Saints’ D/ST. … Continuing to stave off various lower-body injuries, Dalvin Cook visits the Superdome averaging 29.4 touches over his last eight games. After Eagles and Chiefs running backs combined to tag New Orleans’ usually stout front for a combined 51/267/3 (5.24 YPC) rushing line in Weeks 14-15, Cook’s matchup appears slightly less imposing, and his floor is always buoyed by monster workloads. From a one-game DFS standpoint, Cook does face some letdown risk due to his injury buildup on a short week.
