UPDATE 8:35 pm ET: A surprise here with Maxi Kleber getting the start over Seth Curry. It’s likely a move to try to limit Kawhi Leonard against Maxi after Kawhi destroyed Dorian Finney-Smith at times this year. Seth Curry does take a small hit here, and Kleber is in play as a punt.
UPDATE 7:25 pm ET: The Clippers have everyone ready to go with Montrezl Harrell, Patrick Beverley and Landry Shamet all ready to go. Harrell will only play a little, so Ivica Zubac is still in play. Beverley and Shamet do not have minutes limits, so this takes Reggie Jackson off the board.
UPDATE 12:46 pm ET: Juwan Morgan is going to start for the Jazz at PF. He’s a big-bodied guy who played a lot of C in the G League, so he’s likely guarding Michael Porter Jr. His minutes will be light, so he’s only a dart-throw play. Coach Quin Snyder really focused on playing his deep bench in the bubble, so we’re finding out why today. This is only a slight hit to Jordan Clarkson, who is still going to get up there in playing time. Emmanuel Mudiay may still be out of the rotation.
UPDATE 12:30 pm ET: Montrezl Harrell is with the Clippers for shootaround, so he should be good to go for tonight. We’re still waiting on Patrick Beverley (calf) and Landry Shamet (foot).
We made it to the playoffs! Unlike what we’ve been doing in the seeding games, we should have a pretty clear picture of the injury report every day and not nearly as much guessing. Today, the Clippers situation will be one to watch with Montrezl Harrell (personal), Landry Shamet (foot) and Patrick Beverley (calf) all questionable. Harrell should be good, but Shamet and Beverley are likely going to be game-time calls. Reggie Jackson and/or Terance Mann could see time with Jackson having some GPP appeal, but he’s risky.
Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz, 1:30 pm ET
We got shocking news on Sunday with Mike Conley (personal) leaving the bubble for the birth of his son. The Jazz also will not have Ed Davis (knee) and another ball-handler Justin Wright-Foreman (NWT). Without Conley for most of December and half of January, Mitchell saw an extra 1.4 minutes of touch time, and he should see even more as the Jazz try to get Joe Ingles to space the floor. It is a bad matchup for him, though, but the opportunity is there. Jordan Clarkson should get the biggest boost here, and Emmanuel Mudiay could be in the rotation. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if Nigel Williams-Goss is in there. Miye Oni is a darkhorse to start, too.
Nothing new with the Nuggets with Will Barton (knee) and Gary Harris (hip) out. Torrey Craig is going to guard Donovan Mitchell a whole lot, so the minutes should be huge. Michael Porter Jr. is also set up for big volume.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors, 4:00 pm ET
Not much going on here with Jamal Crawford (hamstring) out for the Nets. Tyler Johnson will back up Caris LeVert, and he should see 10-15 minutes of overlap.
The Raptors rotation is healthy with only Oshae Brissett (knee) and Patrick McCaw (knee) out. Terence Davis II figures to get 10-14 minutes off the bench with huge volume for Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry.
Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers, 6:30 pm ET
Glenn Robinson III is out for this one, and of course Ben Simmons (knee) remains out. Coach Brett Brown said he could start Matisse Thybulle, who would guard Jayson Tatum a lot. Shake Milton or Al Horford could be moved to the bench, and I’d think it would be Horford to give the 76ers more ball-handling in the first unit after J-Rich struggled.
The Celtics rotation is healthy with only Romeo Langford (wrist) listed as questionable and Vincent Poirier (groin) probable.
Dallas Mavericks vs. LA Clippers, 9:00 pm ET
Kristaps Porzingis (heel) is probable, but he should be fine for big playing time.
The Clippers are a little tricky, but Montrezl Harrell (personal) should be available despite his questionable tag. Coach Doc Rivers didn’t give an update on Landry Shamet (foot) and Patrick Beverley (calf). Both will likely be a game-time call. Lou Williams’ minutes should be up again, so it’ll be tough to count on Reggie Jackson in cash.
