We are officially at the end of the golf “regular season”. And what a way to end it, as we had a massive amount of success from our subscribers last week, including the FGWC champion, TYA Todd, who took down his second “Milly” of his career with a resounding win at the 3M Open. Congrats to all the participants of the FGWC, even Discord coastal elitist Grex, who allowed me to bet on his performance and then proceeded to tank his entries to win another handle of liquor off of me. Truly sick stuff from our resident robot. Outside of the FGWC, we saw other members pop off for some big weeks, including valued Discord member JTCapSnake, who took down the Pat Mayo as well as a $10K-to-first single-entry tournament, amongst other contests. Of course, I have to mention R4 showdown, where ETR represented the top three in the Final Round Finale, with Discord member atrain coming out on top. Discord gossip king cantfademe took down the R4 Drive the Green with an absolutely ridiculous lineup, which I will get into later on in this article. It truly was a week of winning for ETR, so you may be wondering how I performed as well.

3M Open – Recap

Well, fear not, it was a successful week for me too! I finished eighth in the “Sand Trap Special”, or the flagship GPP as many like to call it, while also earning three $4,444 tickets in the process across showdown and classic for the week. Here’s my screenshot below:

Finally, a winning week for me! Here were my biggest stands on the week:

  • 45-50% on Hideki, Finau, and Sungjae Im — essentially having at least one of them in basically all lineups; 30% J.T. Poston (flag plant); mixed in a bunch of the lower guys for diversity, like 10% Zac Blair (as mentioned on Establish the Green)
  • Full faded Cameron Davis, Adam Hadwin, Austin Eckroat, Sepp Straka, and other chalk that missed the cut

Everything basically worked out for me this week, other than a Cam Champ WD (I had 13%) and a Bez MC (I had 23%). Had those two things gone in my favor, we might be looking at even more winnings, but I am not one to complain. I felt good about the way I manipulated the SOLVER this week, as I made it a point to boost up the trio of Finau, Hideki, and Sungjae together in order to prioritize “double stud” builds. Despite Sungjae missing the cut, I was able to fire away enough Finau/Hideki lineups to make things interesting. If only ‘Deki knew how to putt (or cared), we might be looking at a much bigger week. All things considered, I’m happy that I had success as I actually took on chalk up top (other than Straka) and diversified down below. We’ll see how we attack Wyndham later on in this article. Let’s take a look at the winning lineup in the main GPP:

  • The lineup came in at a 66% cumulative ownership, well within the range we continue to target in large-field GPPs. Again, this is just the start of your lineup building — there are many ways to diversify your lineups and still hit a number that’s within the range.
  • It skipped the $9K range, going with a Finau hero lineup and a bunch of $7-8K players. Poston, Hodges, and Tom Hoge all were featured in the lineup.

Overall, I can’t say I’m seeing much that I don’t already know. It was a well-constructed lineup that was the nuts this week. Congrats to the winner.
