Every Thursday from now through the end of the regular season, we’ll provide survivor pool ownership projections along with some analysis on each relevant game on the slate. Then, throughout the weekend, I’ll hop in the survivor pool channel of Discord to discuss any significant changes.
Now, Opening Day is finally here, so let’s jump in.
Broncos vs. Titans
Spread: Broncos -8.5
Total: 42.5
Ownership: 33%
I view Denver as a team that is more likely to see some slight regression from last year than to take a big step forward.
That said, at Denver, against the Broncos’ defense, is a brutal place for Cam Ward to make his NFL debut. Ward’s dynamic skill set gives this game some uncertainty, as he’s capable of spearheading an upset win much like Deshaun Watson did early in his career.
But ultimately, Sean Payton, Denver’s altitude-driven home-field advantage, quality offensive line, and defense provide enough stability to make the Broncos reasonable chalk. How I see this one is that Ward likely has to carry the Titans, in his pro debut, if Tennessee upsets the Broncos on the road.
