2026 has delivered some insane Sundays on the PGA Tour, and The Players Championship was its best yet! TPC Sawgrass is set up so well to add to the theatrics, and Ludvig Aberg was its biggest victim, melting on the back nine to open the door for the Cameron YoungMatt Fitzpatrick battle. It’s easy to say that Fitz ended up giving it away, blowing his one-stroke lead with two to go, but Young stepped up and took that tournament into his hands with the approach on 17 and the drive on 18. It’s now been eight months of Cam Young being among the elites in this game, and a Players Championship trophy was rightfully deserved with his play.

Well, it was a polarizing week for the Value Report on both ends of the spectrum, as there was relevance for just one of the eight picks; however, that one ended up being the best value play of the slate. Sudarshan Yellamaraju continued his breakout rookie season with a T5 at less than 1% ownership, which landed him as the only player priced below $7K inside the top 10. A truly remarkable performance from Yella, as he simply impresses every time he tees it up right now. Ricky Castillo did get off to a fast start and made it seem like Scottie Scheffler pairings were in a live spot early, but he flamed out quickly. While Michael Brennan showed his scoring upside, way too many bogeys made his week forgettable. Then the laundry list of missed cuts followed the rest of the list. Max Greyserman was likely the most disappointing, as he was -5 on his opening nine holes, pacing the field, until falling apart. But all in all, it was a tough week for the overall list.

What made the week even more of a spin cycle, of course, was Collin Morikawa’s withdrawal on his second hole, derailing 40% of the field. Couple that with Rory McIlroy’s minimal ownership off the injury and Scottie’s continued struggles, and balanced builds were far and away the best result of the week. The million-dollar-winning flagship lineup actually didn’t roster a single golfer under $7,500 as well as not having any above $9K, either. It was a very unique structure that paid off in a big way. It was a forgettable week from my DFS perspective, especially with the way the weather played out both results- and ownership-wise, so I’m ready to move on to the final leg of the Florida swing. The Valspar Championship was able to pull quite a decent amount of names after a taxing week for so many, and the pricing structure is back to reflecting typical PGA DFS. That means $10.9K as our most expensive golfer and an overall weaker bottom end of the field, which shouldn’t draw much ownership at all. These are the weeks that many are fatigued to enter, but the prize pools remain just as large, so there are more opportunities for us to find those diamonds in the rough!

Taylor Moore, $7,500 – The 2023 Valspar champion, Taylor Moore arrives back to Innisbrook with a rather bummer of a career after what seemed like an important win three years ago. Yes, it’s cemented his status, and he’s had no trouble keeping his card, but after being a dominant force on the KFT, there were high expectations for Moore, especially with the early signs he was showing as one of the game’s best putters. But his iron play never remained, and he only combined for one top-five finish the following two years. So far in 2026, though, Moore has found a distance spike, resulting in the best off-the-tee metrics of his career. Everything almost came together when he finished runner-up at the Cognizant Classic, and despite mediocre weeks at the API and Players, the driver and putter didn’t slow down a bit. His success makes me quite comfortable, especially because it resulted in the price increase, which is enough that ownership shouldn’t come piling in.
