Houston @ Kansas City
Team Totals: Chiefs 31.5, Texans 22.5
The Texans visit Arrowhead for a rubber match after these teams split last season’s two meetings – first in Week 6 and next in January – playing to barnburner results of 31-24 and 51-31. Deshaun Watson touched up Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo’s unit for a combined 668 passing yards, a 3:2 TD-to-INT ratio, 79 rushing yards, and three additional rushing scores. While DeAndre Hopkins’ loss is sure to be felt, the Texans now field one of the league’s fastest wideout corps highlighted by Will Fuller (4.32), Brandin Cooks (4.33), and Kenny Stills (4.38) with Randall Cobb in the slot. As the Texans are nine-point road dogs, it’s noteworthy that Watson’s career yards per attempt rise from 7.7 to 8.4 when trailing, and his yards per carry spike from 4.4 to 6.3.
