The Bengals visit Foxboro following Week 15’s comeback win over Tampa Bay to meet the Patriots in what profiles as an offense-unfriendly matchup. Yet Cincinnati is catching New England in especially bad shape on the backend; Pats CB Jalen Mills (groin) won’t play, while fellow CBs Jonathan Jones (chest) and Jack Jones (knee) look legitimately questionable. With Ja’Marr Chase back at full tilt, Tee Higgins (hamstring) and Tyler Boyd (finger) practicing fully again, and Hayden Hurst (calf) potentially returning, Joe Burrow has just enough light at the end of the tunnel to be fired up as a low-end QB1. … Samaje Perine has earned a bigger role than he handled early in the season, but Joe Mixon out-touched Perine 16 to 8 and out-snapped him 42 to 25 against the Bucs last week. Mixon remains the Bengals’ clear-cut lead back, although his loss of usage to Perine and matchup with a Patriots defense allowing the NFL’s third-fewest fantasy running back points render Mixon more of a middle-range to low-end RB1 starter.
