N.Y. Jets @ Buffalo
Team Totals: Bills 23, Jets 16
Zach Wilson has started and/or played extensively in three career meetings with the Bills. The final scores of those games were 22-16, 20-17, and 27-10. This season, the Jets have gone 36 consecutive offensive possessions without netting a touchdown. They’ve scored 144 points on the year, and exactly half have come via K Greg Zuerlein. Even with a 39-point total, this is an obvious “under” game worth fading wherever possible in fantasy lineup decisions. … One exception is Breece Hall based on talent, matchup, and workload projection. Hall has struggled mightily lately to find running room — translating to an anemic 2.5 yards per carry over his last four games — but has shined in the passing game while still averaging 17.8 touches during that span. Last week, Hall played a season-high 70% of the Jets’ offensive snaps, and this week Gang Green waived No. 3 running back Michael Carter, freeing up nearly 16 backfield snaps per game. The Bills have allowed the NFL’s 11th-most fantasy points to enemy backs.
The other exception is Garrett Wilson, who continues to get by on volume as a means of compensating for his quarterback’s ineptitude. With immense ability and 12 or more targets in five of New York’s last six games, Wilson has matchup-proof qualities. Zach’s inaccuracies weigh heavily on Garrett’s efficiency, of course.
