Saturday 8:00 PM ET Game

San Francisco @ Seattle

Team Totals: Seahawks 26.5, 49ers 19

The 49ers visit Seattle missing needle-mover TE George Kittle (torn Achilles) to face a Seahawks defense that is rested and healthy coming off its first-round bye after finishing the regular season having allowed a league-low 6.0 yards per pass attempt and the NFL’s fourth-lowest passer rating (77.9). Mike Macdonald’s unit put clamps on Brock Purdy in these teams’ NFC West-deciding Week 18 meeting in San Francisco, holding Purdy to 4.7 yards per attempt and the Niners to three points. Kittle played 95% of the 49ers’ offensive snaps in that game. On paper, San Francisco’s best means of moving the ball here will be via Christian McCaffrey in the passing game; Seattle allowed a league-high 97 receptions to running backs this season. In three career meetings with Macdonald’s Seahawks defenses, McCaffrey has eked out a combined rushing line of 49/171/0 (3.49 YPC).
