Chicago @ L.A. Chargers
Team Totals: Chargers 27.5, Bears 17.5
Justin Fields (thumb) will miss his second straight game, keeping UDFA rookie Tyson Bagent under center after he netted Week 7’s QB20 fantasy result versus the punchless Raiders. With zero teams on Week 8 bye and a sub-18-point team total, Bagent isn’t even playable in two-quarterback leagues. … Khalil Herbert (ankle, I.R.) will miss at least two more games, while Roschon Johnson (concussion) looks on track to return to complement D’Onta Foreman. By turning 31 carries into 154 yards and two TDs (5.0 YPC) and securing 4/33/1 receiving over the past two weeks, Foreman has arguably earned lead-back treatment in Chicago. Johnson makes sense as a passing-down change of pace. I’m approaching Foreman as RB2/flex playable against a Chargers defense permitting the NFL’s 12th-most fantasy points to enemy backs. Johnson is a low-end flex dart with RB1 upside should something happen to Foreman.
Bagent’s Week 7 target distribution: D.J. Moore 9; Foreman 5; Darnell Mooney 4; Darrynton Evans and Tyler Scott 3; Marcedes Lewis, Velus Jones, and Khari Blasingame 1. … Cole Kmet wasn’t targeted in Week 7 despite playing 89% of Chicago’s offensive snaps and running 24 routes on 32 Bagent dropbacks.
