Chicago @ Detroit

Team Totals: Lions 26.5, Bears 20.5

A missed-throw machine in last Monday’s collapse versus Minnesota — no quarterback had a higher off-target throw rate in Week 1 — Caleb Williams nevertheless banked the week’s fantasy QB9 result on the strength of 6/58/1 rushing. Williams looked faster than ever and will deliver fantasy-starter production over the course of the year if he continues to run aggressively. Although Caleb too often failed to connect, new Bears HC Ben Johnson’s passing design looked on point, consistently scheming would-be pass catchers open. Williams will have opportunities for a big game here; the Aaron Glenn-less Lions defense managed two QB hits and zero sacks in Week 1 against Green Bay. … The Bears deployed D’Andre Swift as a true every-down back against the Vikings, feeding Swift 20 touches on 81% of Chicago’s offensive snaps. Just like last year, Swift was highly unsuccessful in a role for which his skill set has never been suited. The Bears are now 6-point road dogs against a Lions team that last Sunday stacked up Packers RBs for a 21/71/1 (3.4 YPC) rushing line.
