Buffalo @ Cincinnati
Team Totals: Bengals 25.5, Bills 23.5
At 50.5 points, Bills-Bengals has Week 9’s second-highest total. … Fantasy’s to-date QB1, Josh Allen has thrown for three or more touchdown passes in four of his last five games while leading the league in completion rate (72%) and QBR (77.0). Using his legs more lately, Allen rushed a season-high seven times in each of Buffalo’s last two contests. The Bills’ defensive depletion has forced more onto Allen’s plate; I expect Buffalo to be a shootout team the rest of the way. I also bet the over on this game’s total. With 22 or more fantasy points in six of eight starts, Allen is an every-week top-three QB1. … James Cook has just one rushing touchdown on the season and has drawn only four targets over Buffalo’s last three games. He continues to lose high-value touches to 33-year-old Latavius Murray, while newly signed Leonard Fournette reported to the team in tip-top physical condition. Cook is entirely RB2 playable here but looks like an imminent sell high, especially if he produces in Sunday night’s potential shootout game.
Allen’s Week 8 target distribution sans Dawson Knox (wrist, I.R.): Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis 12; Dalton Kincaid 7; Khalil Shakir 6; Cook and Murray 1. … Fourth in the NFL in target share (33%) and sixth in Air Yards share (43%), Diggs is 10th in yards per route run (2.5) and first in catches (64).
