An unstoppable force meets an immovable object when Josh Allen — fantasy’s overall QB1 by 3.1 points per game over QB2 Patrick Mahomes — faces a Texans defense surrendering FF’s fewest QB points. DeMeco Ryans’ group has permitted the league’s second-lowest completion rate (57.6%), fewest yards per pass attempt (6.0), and an NFL-low 72.7 passer rating. And Houston is mid-pack in QB rushing yards allowed. With zero matchup factors in his favor — and one of the league’s weakest pass-catcher corps — Allen is a full-blown bet-on-talent QB1. … Likewise, Houston’s defense has been in no way giving to enemy running backs, holding the position to 3.6 yards per carry and 96.1 total yards per game. Yet James Cook warrants matchup-agnostic RB1 treatment, averaging 20.3 touches — way up from last season’s 14.9 mark — and ranking sixth among running backs in PPR scoring. … Ty Johnson is a better dart on single-game DFS tournament slates than Ray Davis, who was Cook’s top backup last year. Their stances on the depth chart have flipped in 2025; Johnson has out-touched Davis 10 to 3 and out-snapped Davis 58 to 11 over Buffalo’s last three games.
